Position Summary
Shipping Operators are responsible for completing all documentation (Oracle) and bills for orders shipping from the Marble Hill facility as well as loading of bulk and van trucks with adherence to all company procedures and customer expectations and helping to always maintain a showcase facility. Perform duties of shipping as well as the systems/Oracle work.
Must be willing to work any shift, including over night.
Pay starts at $26.16/hour.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Completes orders/bills for shipments using Oracle or virtual terminal and ensures all documentation is correct before shipment is complete.
- Load bulk and van trucks with strict adherence to company procedures and customer specifications and expectations. This includes:
- Ability to ascend and descend a stairway with 28 steps 20 – 30 times per day/shift.
- Ability to ascend and descend a ladder with 8 rungs 20 – 30 times per day/shift.
- Ability to squat, kneel, and be on knees 40 – 60 times per day/shift.
- Assist logistics/customer service/QC with the proper handling of order fulfillment paperwork (i.e. BOLs and CoA’s to the correct customer and correct customer location).
- Operate bobcat, street sweeper, water truck, and forklift as applicable.
- Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment and documentation.
- Perform area workplace inspection each shift.
- Must be able to read, write and understand paperwork in English to complete daily paperwork requirements.
- Assess and document all returned goods and complete any necessary paperwork
- Be able to operator the scale house and perform all duties including: signing-in and out of drivers, record truck loading and times on spreadsheets and scan shipping documents onto the share drive
- Quality Improvement initiatives which include safety and environment compliance, computer applications, cross training through dedicated specific functions
- Have ability to work with a team and be flexible in duties as priorities change
- Perform other duties not listed as assigned and trained
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years plant experience or equivalent preferred including computer literacy though on the job training will be provided in specific computer programs needed to perform the duties.
- Work and act safely. Must be able to react and respond to safety related situations.
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations which include the following: multiplication, addition, percentages-can be accomplished with the use of a calculator or manually computed].
- Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization and be able to communicate using a radio.
- Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOP’s, MSDS, and various production schedules/ reports.
Physical Requirements
- Exposed to inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibrations, rain, humidity and generally dusty conditions for a minimum of 8 hours at a time.
- Operates equipment at a speed that is reasonable and prudent for the conditions while maintaining an efficient level of production.
- Lifting, climbing, kneeling.
- Must be capable of wearing required PPE for entire shift: Hard hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, safety harness/lanyard, etc.
- Must load and unload bulk and van trucks.
