Position Summary

Leads and manages the Maintenance Department Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) function and a team of E&I Technicians in an efficient and cost-effective manner to meet operations requirements to support CPK ‘s business strategies, operating initiatives and financial objectives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • One location operating year-round, 24 hours/day.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in the Maintenance Department E&I Team.
  • Determining priorities and focus for day to day operation and long-term strategic vision.
  • Prioritize repair work and scheduled work to return equipment to production.
  • Identify gaps and or improvement opportunities and implement training or procedures to correct.
  • Responsible for implementing, principles and practices to improve overall equipment effectiveness and asset life.
  • Communicates with Maintenance and Production on open action items.
  • Reviews all completed work orders and PM tasks for accuracy. 
  • Support job plans upon execution, with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Manages all PM history and recordkeeping including retention of documentation.
  • Administers Company Policies such as Attendance, Disciplinary and Cardinal Rules, etc.,

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Ability to lead teams, influence other, and develop strong relationships with Engineers, Supervisors, Manager, and Employees.
  • Building trust amongst the Mechanic and E&I Teams.
  • Requires analytical ability, good people skills and a good understand of regulatory programs.

Ability to teach and apply discipline among the E&I team, holding individuals accountable and treating all employees equally.

Physical Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-years working in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing plant environment preferable in E&I and reliability role.   2-year technical degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of preventive maintenance, vibration analysis, oil analysis and engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of SOP’s and predictive / preventive maintenance practices for piping systems, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, pumps, fans, separators, and other typical process equipment, fermenters, recovery systems, utilities (Cogeneration) and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, and the SAP maintenance management system, Six Sigma a plus.
  • Working manufacturing knowledge of Reliability, Operations, Quality (cGMP & food Safety), ESH, and PSM.
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills.
