Principal Duties & Responsibilities

J.M. Huber is committed to employee learning and development, and the Audit Manager position reflects that promise.  This role is intended to provide widespread exposure to an extensive array of people, processes, systems and practices throughout all business units and geographical regions of the corporation.

The position will help protect and enhance shareholder value by conducting audit projects that:

  • Evaluate and strengthen the effectiveness of controls that mitigate mature risks associated with existing financial and non-financial processes (core assurance protection projects).
  • Collaborate with management to identify, understand, and control new emerging business risks (trusted advisor value protection and enhancement projects).
  • Position Audit to be a vital component of the Company's employee development program. 

Lead audit and advisory projects by:

  • Managing projects and processes - Plan tasks, align needs with resources and protect audit quality.
  • Utilizing technical expertise and thinking analytically - Map workflows and assess risks.  Use data to identify root causes and improve processes.
  • Expanding team ability to complete projects - Know where to find the proper resources when help is needed.
  • Building a cultural expectation of results in a customer-orientation manner - Gain customer trust by bringing new insights, produce results that make a difference. 

Lead others by:

  • Fostering teamwork - Encourage others above personal interests
  • Providing motivational support - Find creative ways to make the work rewarding, extending gratitude for achievements and contributions.
  • Managing performance - Set measurable goals, provide timely feedback, identify areas of improvement.

Communicate with and advise others by:

  • Influencing and negotiating effectively - base guidance on facts, analysis, logic and data.  Find common ground, achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Building collaborative relationships - acknowledge and address others' concerns and perspectives, show respect to all people and diverse backgrounds.
  • Communicating clearly - Organize and express ideas clearly; create written audit reports that are concise easy to understand and supported by facts and data. 

Education/Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or related business subject and CPA designation.
  • 6 years' diverse project level work experience, with a minimum 4 years in audit.
  • International and manufacturing experience strongly desired.
  • Strong project execution and management skills.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership/Supervisor experience - will lead a team.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Oracle:  data analytics experience, particularly with Power BI.
  • Interested in or having the desire to transition into an accounting, finance, or other suitable role in one of the Huber business units when the opportunity to do so arises.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (typically around 25% however unseen circumstances could necessitate more).
