Position Summary

As a member of J.M Huber Corporation’s Corporate Communications team, the Communications Specialist draws on various communications skills augmenting a foundation of strong writing to tell stories and provide clear and accurate information to employees and other stakeholders. Project management, the ability to build networks and an attention for details will be important for supporting Huber’s strategies, initiatives and businesses with engaging content across various platforms. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research and write internal news items, including but not limited to annual reports,  features, financial updates, corporate and departmental announcements,  award applications, and infographics 
  • Review and edit materials created by others  
  • Write and maintain website content 
  • Support development of internal presentations for executives 
  • Provide content on corporate social media channels 
  • Ability to manage numerous projects on tight deadlines
  • May perform other duties as needed 

Education, Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

Required: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or closely related field
  • 5+ years of corporate writing or content production experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Basic graphic design, videography, and photography experience a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Office 365 full suite of tools (OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint Online, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)  
  • Basic knowledge of InDesign, Adobe mark-up and project management tools   
  • Experience building surveys in SurveyMonkey or similar tools and ability to analyze results   
  • Experience managing WordPress based websites
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with employees and stakeholders at all levels of the organization  
  • Ability to understand corporate financial reports and translate data into non-financial language employees will understand   
  • Basic knowledge of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion issues and topics, community engagement programs as well as Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) frameworks and sustainability reporting  
  • Can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment including working outside of traditional office hours/OT as necessary 
  • Must work well independently with little supervision as well as collaborate within a team environment   

 

Work performed in a cubicle in an open area with high traffic and activity
