Position Summary

The Engineering Development Program has been designed to focus on providing a wide breadth of development through a progression of rotations across multiple businesses and functions. Participating engineers will gain exposure to foundational engineering knowledge while providing a broad-based understanding of all of Huber’s processes and operating systems.   

  • This program provides hands-on engineering experience in project-based assignments while fostering your technical and leadership skills through integrated foundational training, as well as coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. 
  • The unique design of this program focuses on career-driven individuals looking to maximize their learning, solve complex problems, and support a continuous improvement culture.
  • The program consists of 2 rotational assignments at our US plant locations. Each rotation will be 12 months (2-year program). Once the rotations have been completed, the engineer will be assigned to an engineering position at one of our locations.    
  • This is a full-time, permanent placement program. We will provide relocation assistance for each year for plant assignments.

 

Location:

This is a full-time, permanent placement program with three rotational assignments at our US plant locations. We will provide relocation assistance each year for plant assignments. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with plant teams (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, etc.) as well as HEM
  • Engineering resources at the dedicated plant while developing best practices for both process and product improvements.   
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing site in the areas of production, maintenance, capital projects, process engineering and continuous improvement.     
  • Works on projects that are identified and prioritized by the Plant Management and Business Unit Engineering teams.   
  • Implement and manage assigned projects such that the schedule, costs, and scope of the project are successfully accomplished.
  • Develop processes and equipment with sustainability in mind supporting the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit.
  • Support the ISO quality system as required ensuring compliance with the ISO 9001 quality standard and supporting business unit Quality Policies.
  • Assist with design and conducting test programs for new or modified products.
  • Supports the layout of processes and recommends processing equipment.
  • Identifies plant process improvements and partners with Senior Engineers  
  • Provide support and direction to internal and external resources to meet the goals of the assignments.
  • Work with Operations and Maintenance to schedule downtime for the implementation of assignments

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a graduation date between December 2024-May 2025
  • Working towards a degree in Engineering discipline (but not limited to): Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Control Engineering, and Electrical Engineering
  • Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Ability to relocate on an annual basis
  • Passion for leadership and technology 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD design
  • Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules / reports and engineering drawings
