Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Income Tax Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely filings of U.S. consolidated federal income tax return and state returns and supports U.S. international calculations. The manager will review quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations, supports the tax department in areas such as tax planning, audit, transfer pricing, and business transactions. The Manager will also use tax technology to continue improving the tax compliance and tax accounting process and ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
Flexible Work Arrangement: This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with three days working in the Atlanta office and two days working from home each week.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of consolidated federal and state corporate income tax workpapers and tax returns and ensure the accurate and timely filing of all tax forms.
- Prepare and review quarterly estimated and annual extension tax payments.
- Prepare and review monthly actual/forecast, quarterly, and year-end income tax provisions and related journal entries. Ensure the accurate calculations of current and deferred taxes.
- Support the preparation of annual tax studies, including tax credit and transfer pricing.
- Support U.S. international calculations as part of the tax compliance, including global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI), foreign dividends received deduction and Sec 245A, foreign-derived intangible income (FDII) deduction, the base erosion and anti-abuse tax (BEAT), subpart F income, as well as form 1118 foreign tax credit calculations.
- Manage and support Pillar 2 work from the U.S. perspective, including compliance and provision.
- Support all tax department efforts and projects to continue to improve the department growth with tax technology.
- Utilize tax technology solutions and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Alteryx to facilitate and streamline various aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and management.
- Support federal and state income tax audit defense activities.
- Perform federal and state income tax research and planning projects as necessary to support current and future business transactions and operations.
- Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness, engagement and professional development.
Education, Specialized Knowledge & Required Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or closely related field
- 8+ years of experience with federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong working knowledge of Corptax and OneSource Tax Provision software
- Experience with ERP systems and/or OneStream consolidation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business operations on a regular basis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present tax data in an understandable manner
- Self-starter, capable of working independently with strong initiative and flexibility
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in accounting, taxation or closely related field
- CPA designation
- 2+ years of experience at a national or global public accounting firm
