Position Summary
The Network Engineer will ensure network configuration, installation, availability, and scalability to individual requirements, contribute to Huber´s network strategy, consult and support IT teams as well as business units around all network related initiatives and projects.
Deliver a world class network service delivery, to allow Huber to leverage latest technologies as these align with industry best practices. Enable Huber to improve and maintain a network infrastructure, focusing on modern manufacturing industry and have a good understanding of IT/OT services.
The Network Engineer will be part of the enterprise networking team and ensure that projects and initiatives align with network standards and strategies. The Network Engineer will also be part of Huber´s 2nd Level Support and Escalation process, with focus on network technologies.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the definition and documentation of all policies and procedures, standards, design, and business rules related to network technologies
- Avoid technical debt by developing reusable and scalable solutions
- Improve and maintain performance, security, reliability, operations, technology, and interoperability requirements to produce high level and scalable design deliverables
- Contribute to enterprise network technical strategy and define and document solution architecture(s) including technical designs and diagrams
- Design and deploy dynamically scalable and highly available services using Huber´s network standards, to enable Huber´s cloud strategy
- Participate in every aspect of the development and operational areas and design cloud network connectivity architecture
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical design for network solutions for infrastructure and platforms
- Research, analyse, recommend, and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems
Education, Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree within Information Technology field of study, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of Experience with Fortinet SDWAN deployments, troubleshooting, legacy network migration and support. Experience with Forti Analyzer, Forti Manager and Forti Cloud is a must
- 5+ years of experience with Meraki/Cisco technologies and services such as switching and routing, firewall management, TCP/IP networking, VLAN Management, LAN/Wireless LAN, Spanning Tree issue resolution
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access points, Firewalls, DNS and DHCP
- Experience with CISCO Meraki Switching: STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/protection, VTP, VLANs and 802.1Q trunk, strong understanding of MAC /CAM/ ARP tables will be helpful
- Proficient with addressing mechanisms (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, or similar), and with L1 technologies (SMF, MMF, DWDM, Transceivers)
- In-depth experience with cabling technologies - Category 5, Category 6A, Single & Multi-Mode Fiber
- Deep product knowledge and understanding of Meraki/Cisco product features including Disaster Recovery, Internet of Things, Monitoring, and remote Management
- Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management
