Position Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be the Product Regulatory Affairs SME (Subject Matter Expert) supporting RMS (Regulatory Management Systems) for HEM internal and external customer systems. This role will provide research in support of Regulatory Affairs projects supporting Business maintenance and/or growth and right to operate (RTO) as well as providing Regulatory Product management for specified businesses or platforms (potentially across all HEM businesses). The Regulatory Affairs Manager will monitor Product Regulatory environment for changes affecting current and potential future business and assist in developing product portfolio strategies for regulatory compliance needs.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the preparation and submittal of petitions and dossiers (government and standards agencies)
  • Utilize inputs from Business SMEs and 3rd parties to:
  • Develop guidance and strategies to BUs on behalf of Regulatory Affairs.
  • Provide responses for Internal and External Regulatory requests.
  • Develop strategy to support current and future product portfolios for compliance to regulatory affairs landscape (current and future)
  • Serve as Regulatory expert and representative for assigned products and platforms
  • Identify, develop, conduct and/or facilitate training on Regulatory subjects for HEM functional groups and product SMEs.
  • Support RMS systems, including Document Management and Regulatory sites.
  • Create and Update policies, procedures, and associated documents on behalf of Regulatory Affairs
  • Author and Review policies and procedures on behalf of Regulatory Affairs.
  • Develop strong relationship with Business Unit SMEs to enhance communication and collaboration to advance Regulatory Affairs partnerships within the business
  • Develop strong relationships with the Business to enhance communication and build stronger project teams

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Min B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Toxicology, Regulatory Affairs, Legal or another compliance related field
  • Min 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs related to chemical industry and/or industrial products, some experience with project management and process optimization tools desired, knowledgeable on regulation and the regulatory process
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Well-structured/-organized, capable of working independently and persistently, good collaboration skills, analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, SharePoint, ERP
  • Good understanding of IT applications and databases
