Position Summary
The Senior Director, Global Finance is a proactive financial leader and business partner for our global business unit of Huber Advanced materials (HAM). This position is responsible for the strategy, financial and accounting integrity and profitable growth of the organization.
Aligned with direct and functional leadership, this position supports the development of business strategy, is the business partner for the General Manager and leadership team of HAM business, leads and develops a global team of finance resources. The position also monitors and forecasts financial performance of the business, creates insights to identify critical issues for HAM leadership team, ensures a sound internal control environment, develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with peers and leaders across the globe and fosters a strong network among the finance team within HAM, HEM and Huber organization.
The position will lead the cultural change process within Finance and provide support to the General Manager as the business unit shifts to functionally aligned global structure while maintaining and in some cases top grading the existing workforce, while keeping in mind Huber Vision and Principles as well as developing professional and leadership competencies of financial team members.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- As a member of the HAM Leadership Team, this role acts as a strategic business partner to the HAM business. This includes leading the 5 Yr Strategic Planning Process.
- Provides guidance to the BU leader and BU LT for Plan of Record (POR) development; leads monthly and yearly financial budgeting and forecasting of SBU performance.
- Evaluates long term strategies, growth plans, investment and resourcing decisions
- Prepares, analyzes, presents and engages with the Board of Directors, JM Huber leadership and other constituents as required
- Enhance SBU profitability/total business return (TBR) by formulating long term and short-term plans and by establishing, tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Leads Financial evaluation of large Capital Expenditures and collaboratively gathers input from all stakeholders.
- Supports SBU growth strategy by leading financial and strategic analysis of acquisitions.
- Establish and enhance credibility for the finance function by building a world class SBU financial team through effective hiring, employee development and retention. Provide team with opportunities for professional and personal growth.
- Promote HEM's vision, principles and desired culture by developing skills and leadership competencies of staff.
- Periodically evaluate the SBU finance division structure and team.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends.
- Support the development, enhancement and implementation of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the finance and function and the company.
- Partners with functional leads to being a resource in efforts to improve productivity.
- Provide financial advice and knowledge to others inside and outside of financial discipline.
- Initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Develop, implement and maintain a reliable SBU cash flow projection process.
- Develop reporting mechanisms that provide accurate and clear understanding of the business drivers and results on a timely basis.
- Serve as a financial advisor on any contracts into which SBU may enter.
- Plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance group.
- Understand and comply with fiscal and legal requirements mandated by governments in countries where we operate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 15+ years of related experience in finance leadership roles with increasing responsibilities in a matrix driven organization
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Team player and people developer – demonstrated abilities and examples of building strong teams
