Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting & Consolidations will lead and develop a team of three including a Sr. Consolidations Accountant, a Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant and a Sr. Financial Systems Analyst. The role will manage consolidations for the J.M. Huber Corporation, a global manufacturing company comprised of 3 main operating sectors, the J.M. Huber Corporate function and various holding companies, consisting of 70+ subsidiaries in 30+ currencies. The role interacts with Sector Controllers and Accounting Managers, Corporate Department Heads/VPs, as well as external auditors and consultants. The role leads the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, prepares sections of the Quarterly Financial Statements and Annual report, as well as manages the budgeting and forecasting processes. Lastly, this position manages complex accounting including equity investments, derivatives, treasury related accounting etc.
Flexible Work Arrangement: This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the Atlanta office and two days working from home each week.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises J.M. Huber’s global actuals and forecast consolidations on a monthly basis
- Manages and reviews consolidated financial statement preparation for actuals and forecast, on a monthly basis
- Supervises inter/intracompany elimination process within OneStream
- Reconciles, reviews and reports on J.M. Huber’s Equity investments (capital calls, distributions, reporting, etc.)
- Approves monthly Oracle journal entries for the Corporate function
- Reviews and approves monthly account reconciliations for the Corporate function
- Reconciles and reports on J.M. Huber’s insurance policies by collaborating with external actuaries
- Prepares sundry expense/investment reports
- Manages and reviews the Company’s quarterly US GAAP Cash Flow Statement
- Reviews quarterly Sector analytics submissions, which includes variance and flux analyses
- Manages the preparation of the Company’s Budget and Planning process, including budgeting templates for all Corporate Departments
- Assists with preparation of the Annual Report (sector and consolidated data schedules, financial statements, footnotes and MD&A)
- Prepares the average cost of borrowing calculations used in capitalized interest calculations
- Serves as the administrator and helpdesk back-up for OneStream. Conducts OneStream user training
- Assists FP&A in the preparation and analysis of the monthly interest forecasting and the review of the Company’s interest budget
- Assists in the preparation of the Company’s derivative rollforwards, which may include interest rate swaps and cash flow hedges
- Assists the Tax department in the preparation of the Company’s Schedule M-1s
- Assists with other special projects and tasks as needed, such as accounting for M&A transactions
Education, Specialized Knowledge & Required Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study
- 10+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting, Corporate Financial Reporting, Consolidations, etc.
- Strong knowledge and mastery of consolidation systems, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency conversion calculations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships
- Must work well independently and on teams with high energy, comfort with ambiguity and desire for personal growth
- Experience managing teams with diverse functional backgrounds. Coaching and managerial skills key for growth in this role
- Ability to travel less than 10% of the time
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (MBA)
- CPA designation
- Hyperion/HFM/OneStream experience
- Oracle experience
