Job Summary

Senior Network Engineer is an integral part of the Enterprise Network team supporting our continuing effort to provide excellent service to our internal customers and Business Units. This role requires a well-rounded hands-on network expert with a diverse range of experience/skills focused on researching, implementing, and maintaining network solutions with a focus on best practices and current regulatory requirements. This role will ensure network configuration, installation, availability, and scalability to business requirements, contribute to Huber´s network strategy, consult and support IT teams as well as business units around all network related initiatives and projects.

The role requires expert level Network, SDWAN skills and cyber security skills, expert network troubleshooting and excellent customer service. This role also requires strong business relationship skills and understanding of business complexities and challenges associated with working in a fast-paced environment.

This role interfaces with teams at all levels within the company, with vendors, and new business entities to understand business requirements, deliver business IT needs, and collaborate alternative solutions as needed to effectively deliver a services.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Deliver a world class network service delivery, to allow Huber to leverage latest technologies as these align with industry best practices. Enable Huber to improve and maintain a network infrastructure, focusing on modern manufacturing industry (Process Control Network) and have a practical implementation experience in an IT/OT service environment.
     
  • Enterprise Network Optimization, Management and Troubleshooting of:
    • LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki), VLAN, STP/RSTP, DNS, DHCP, IPAM and L1/L2 issues.
    • Wireless LAN (Cisco and Meraki)
    • Routing solutions (BPG, EIGRP, OSPF and RIP)
    • Cyber Security solutions
    • WAN Data connections (SD-WAN, MPLS, IPSec, VPN)
       
  • Deploy, Implement and Manage Cloud VNet Network management for Azure and Oracle Cloud Network (OCI) Infrastructure using ExpressRoute and Fast-Connect On-Ramp solutions.
     
  • Deploy Manage, Maintain and Troubleshoot Fortinet SDWAN solution. Implement and manage CoS for key applications leveraging vendor provided features and solution and prioritize application traffic per business requirements.
     
  • Work at all levels within the company and vendors, partner with OT Network team in driving IT/OT Convergence and security to support Huber Plant PCN requirements.
     
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels with Huber businesses, acquired/potential business teams, as well as service delivery partners.
     
  • Participate in M&A opportunities and drive Network Integration solution following Huber standards and procedures. Document M&A network requirements and work with key Stakeholders to align to those business requirements.
     
  • Document and update the Network design and keep up to date on the following:
    • Changes
    • Visio Design
    • Problems/Resolutions

Education & Certifications

Required:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in closely related field – Information Systems, Cyber Security, etc.


Preferred:

BS in Computer Science

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience with Meraki/Cisco/Fortinet technologies and services such as L3 switching and routing, firewall configuration and policy management, TCP/IP networking, VLAN/VxLAN Management, LAN/Wireless LAN, Spanning Tree issue resolution.
  • Independently Install, configure, and support network equipment including Switches, Router, Wireless Controllers, Access Points, Firewalls, DNS and DHCP.
  • Experience with CISCO and Meraki Switching: STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/protection, VTP, VLANs and 802.1Q trunk, strong understanding of MAC /CAM/ ARP tables will be helpful.
  • Expert Experience with Fortinet SDWAN deployments, legacy network migration and support.
  • Proficient with addressing mechanisms (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, or similar), and with L1 technologies (SMF, MMF, DWDM, Transceivers).
  • In-depth experience with cabling technologies - Category 5, Category 6A, Single & Multi-Mode Fiber
  • Deep product knowledge and understanding of Meraki/Cisco/Fortinet product features including Disaster Recovery, Internet of Things, Monitoring, and remote Management.
  • Prior experience working with Process Control Network, IT/OT and Cybersecurity would be preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced level skill performing Network Administration, Analysis and using various diagnostic tools.​
  • Install, administer, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide network and security hardware and software.
  • Monitor, Analyze, and Report on bandwidth usage globally utilizing relational database program automation to streamline results and provide precise data about the networks
  • Strong knowledge of IP routing protocols, including OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2, and BGP and SDWAN
  • Strong experience working in
  • corporate network environments with WAN technologies such as Firewalls, Switches, Proxy, IPSEC, SSL VPN, VLAN and MPLS Networks.
  • Ability to analyze moderate to highly complex issues to identify remediation actions to be taken. Troubleshoot/analyse systems and data for faults, capacity issues, and performance degradation; remediate as required
  • Work with outsourced technology service providers to provision new data and voice circuits.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leaders and employees across the organization
