Position Summary

As the Educational Event Coordinator, you play a critical role in maintaining HEW’s position as a thought leader in high performance building.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for curating events that focus on education and community building across a diverse set of stakeholders. 

Key factors for success in this position include organizational skills, attention to detail, and constant interaction with internal and external contacts.

In this position, you will lead planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing approximately six core events across the US and Canada, as well as an annual meeting of HEW’s Expert Panel group (comprised of key stakeholders in the building community).  Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to develop AIA accredited courses to meet the educational needs of architects and building professionals.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

This role reports to the Marketing Manager and will support the execution of educational events. Key responsibilities include:

  • Event Planning and Management: Plan and execute all logistics for educational events, both in-person and online.  Lead post-event evaluation and reporting
  • Speaker Logistics: Coordinate speaker travel and communication.
  • Content Creation: Develop building science content for use at events
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Nurture and continue to build our relationships with key vendors, speakers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Coordinate with the Digital Media and Graphic Design teams to promote events and courses to t
  • he target audience.
  • AIA Accreditation: Ensure that all educational offerings are compliant with the requirements for AIA accreditation and manage AIA credit requests from event attendees.
  • Budget Management: Manage event budgets

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required
  • Experience in marketing, corporate event planning, project management, or hospitality.
  • Experience in managing travel and event logistics for multiple people and events simultaneously
  • Experience with venues, A/V, hotels, dinner planning, reservation making, and other event logistics
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate through written and verbal means to various stakeholder groups and audience, including technically-oriented professionals
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with digital technology used in online education and event management, including webinar software and basic office software.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high- quality educational experiences
  • Curiosity or ability to interact with science/engineering minded people passionate about building enclosures.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and are comfortable being on your feet for long periods.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% around the US and Canada.
