Position Summary

Operates one or more mills, continuous blending systems, product dryers, and classifiers to produce materials that meet customer specifications and quality standards. Performs routine equipment inspections and light maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation. Maintains required production, quality, and operational records accurately and timely. Provides guidance and support to Packer Operators to meet daily production goals and operational requirements. Loads and unloads railcars, bulk trucks, and van shipments as needed while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Must be able to work night shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance, Safety, and Environmental Responsibility
Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable Mandatory Minimum Standards Required, permits, environmental regulations, and operational requirements within their area of responsibility. Reports all EH&S concerns and incidents promptly and follows all safety, quality, ISO, and environmental procedures.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Operates mills, blending systems, classifiers, forklifts, and material handling equipment in accordance with established procedures. Monitors product quality through in-process sampling and equipment adjustments. Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and assists maintenance personnel as needed. Utilizes computer systems for production reporting, inventory management, and operational tracking.

Production and Quality
Produces materials that meet customer specifications and quality standards. Maintains required production, environmental, and operational records, including runtime, downtime, inventory, and compliance documentation. Monitors emissions and communicates any issues to appropriate personnel.

Material Handling
Loads and unloads railcars, bulk trucks, and van shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures, including railcar release and washout activities.

Operational Support
Assists with production scheduling, inventory verification, and coordination of packaging requirements. Provides guidance to Packer Operators, maintains a clean work area, and performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Prior industrial mineral processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, multiplication, and percentages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, SDS/MSDS documentation, safety manuals, and production-related forms.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Must be capable of completing First Responder training, including First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when necessary.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, gauges, product quality, and safety conditions.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations and successfully complete First Responder training requirements, including First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification.
