Position Summary

   The Material Handler is an entry level position for associates without experience. All job duties can be performed with about 1-3 days of training

   The Material Handler will report to the Plant Supervisor. Miller Chemical takes pride in working as a team and has various job duties in this classification. The associate will be properly trained at each to accurately perform job duties to meet productivity and quality standards.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Labeling/Stenciling-
* Ability to proficiently stencil or hand label with self-adhesive labels for cartons, bottles and bags

Check Weighing-
* Ability to read the weigh scale to make sure the product is within company standards

Bottle Packer-
* Ability to lift and pack desired product at standard production rate

Bottle Labeler-
* Ability to place bottles through bottle labeling machine at the standard production rate

      Stacker-
* Ability to stack bags, balers and cartons at the standard production rate

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

The associate must be able to do the following 
* Need to demonstrate accuracy
* Monitor own work and ensure quality, bag or machine speeds, etc. 
* Consistently be at work and at their work station in a timely manner during operational hours until proper relief arrives
* Take responsibility for their own actions. 
* Work well as a team with others
* Follow company policies and procedures
* Ability to apply common sense while using the equipment and materials properly.

* Basic Math skills; add and subtract
* Follow instruction from others
* Listen and get clarification 
* Use time efficiently
* Notify the Supervisor of any issues or concerns regarding equipment or disruption of the work flow

Physical Requirements

The associate is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. She or He must have the ability to consistently lift or move up to 60 pounds

The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts while performing job duties and while performing these duties the associate is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel/reach with arms. The associate must also be able to do the following
* Ability to work overtime to meet company needs

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

 

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Material Handler

16.82 - 18.75

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
