Position Summary
The Regulatory Labeling Specialist is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution of product labeling activities, ensuring labels are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time to support commercial needs. This role balances regulatory awareness with hands‑on operational execution, including coordinating with customers, printers, and vendors to move labels from request to final approval efficiently.
The role requires practical working knowledge of regulated documents (e.g., labels, SDSs), familiarity with GHS, state labeling requirements, and other applicable regulatory frameworks, while also being highly responsive and action‑oriented. The Specialist must be comfortable managing multiple label requests in parallel, quickly resolving issues, obtaining printer proofs, and maintaining strong working relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Equally important, the Regulatory Labeling Specialist plays an active role in improving labeling processes, identifying inefficiencies, standardizing workflows, and helping ensure labeling activities are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with business timelines.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Miller Chemical & Fertilizer, LLC, part of Huber AgroSolutions, operates in over 90 countries. Our specialty agriculture products and high-quality fertilizers are globally utilized across various crops.
The Regulatory Labeling Specialist ensures that Miller's product labels, which carry our trusted logo and detailed product information, are consistently accurate. The Regulatory Labeling Specialist interacts regularly with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency, with the technical team to make sure that the label is accurate, and with the regulatory team to ensure label text is regionally compliant. This position also collaborates with sales, customer service, product development, and production teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and approve product labels for regulatory compliance and operational readiness
- Obtain, review, and track printer proofs to final approval
- Proactively manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, responsiveness, and timely delivery
- Generate purchase orders and communicate directly with customers to clarify labeling needs, timelines, and revisions.
- Inspect incoming labels for quality and accuracy against approved artwork.
- Forecast and order labels for immediate and future needs in coordination with production, considering label expirations and customer specific printing needs.
- Maintain label records, including samples, order history, and cost information.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
- Understand Global Harmonized System (GHS), international hazard communications, Department of Transportation(DOT) requirements, state labeling regulations, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor regulatory changes that impact labeling and flag required updates
- Ensure labels remain aligned with registered product information and approved regulatory content
- Help ensure consistent label versions available for all regions in adherence to regulatory demands domestically and internationally.
- Review branding, logo changes, regulatory, and hazard requirements for accuracy.
- Understand all transportation classification and labeling requirements for GHS, CLP, DOT and other international hazard communication standards.
- Maintain a single source of truth for all labels, ensuring it is accessible to necessary stakeholders to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Execute labeling activities within defined workflows while identifying gaps or inefficiencies
- Manage in house printing of labels when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Master Data team on needed label changes/updates to labels in Oracle ERP system.
- Work with Master data to maintain linkage between updated labels and part numbers in ERP system.
- Propose and support improvements to labeling processes, templates, and tracking tools
- Support consistent document control, versioning, and traceability of labels
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Operations, Commercial, and Supply Chain partners to improve turnaround time and accuracy
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator)
- Familiarity with agricultural chemicals and Hazmat regulations
- Graphic design experience and text review skills
- Knowledge of printing industry terminology
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in labeling and licensing of regulated products.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- This role often requires responding to requests outside the office. The Label Coordinator may need remote access to work email and files for in-house printing, purchase orders, and inquiries from manufacturing outside normal work hours.
Physical Requirements:
- The job requires standing and sitting, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, frequent walking, and talking or hearing. Occasionally, lifting/moving up to 25 pounds may be required.

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
