Position Summary

 

Miller’s products are recognized around the world for their strong science-based technologies, quality components and consistent outcomes from our products and programs. A shipping and receiving associate role supports the warehouse supervisor and shipping and receiving coordinator to ensure quality standards are kept as they ship products to customers. Proper labeling of products, pallets and packages are essential for sustaining customer satisfaction. 

A Shipping and Receiving associate is responsible for processing inbound and outbound shipments. The shipping and receiving associate will accurately and efficiently prepare orders, load, and unload shipping containers, inspect material for damage, and maintain an orderly shipping and receiving work area, decide on warehouse locations for products or materials as required. A shipping and receiving associate will make decisions regarding the load plan of containers and trailers and will also make decisions regarding how to stack product(s) on pallets when preparing them for outbound shipments .

 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain 5S and proper housekeeping. (Ex: Putting tools away, sweep up and mop areas as needed) 

Transports material safely and effectively with sit-down forklifts and other material handling tools and equipment 

Scanning location, lot control, product, and quantity of inventory data 

Print identification labels and apply to the materials with dates and quantities 

Uses material handling and packing equipment properly 

Notifies supervisor of defective materials, damage to trailers/pallets and questionable conditions 

Operates multiple stretch wrap machines and keeps accurate records of material wrapped 

Responsible for receiving materials and delivering to appropriate person(s) or storage area 

Ability to use computer systems and office applications including MS Word and Excel 

Completes work in a timely manner; Adds input to improve productivity 

Demonstrates accuracy; Monitors own work and ensures quality standards set forth 

Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment; Works well with others 

Serves as back up to Production Worker 1’s 

Additional responsibilities as assigned 

 

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

Able to understand and follow written and oral instructions  

Basic math skills required 

Communication skills in writing and verbally 

Organization skills 

Ability to conduct cycle counts and use Inventory Management Systems 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent 

1 year forklift experience (preferred) 

Inventory Management Systems experience (preferred) 

Physical Requirements

Associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a warehouse setting 

Exposure to chemicals (Acids, bases, chelates, salts, surfactants and oils) 

Physical Requirements: 

 

Possesses the ability to consistently lift or move up to 55 pounds

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

 

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Shipping & Receiving

[$16.42 - $21.32]

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
