Position Summary

 

EHS+S Specialist with strong environmental background for CP Kelco in Køge (Lille Skensved)

Are you passionate about the environment, health, safety & sustainability (EHS+S)? And have you a proven experience in operating and developing the EHS + S management systems (ISO 14001 incl. energy, ISO 45001) so that continuous improvements are supported, and we reach our ambitious goals? Are you driven by systematics and have the ability and desire to ensure that the EHS + S management systems are operational? Then, in the position of EHS + S Engineer at CP Kelco, you will have great influence and opportunity to create visible results.

 

You will be part of a small strong professional team with great flexibility to help each other across academic areas at peak times. As an EHS+S specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring progress, audit and compliance with the company's environmental permits, and continuous improvements in relation to the entire company's sustainability profile (UNSDG) that sits in your task portfolio.

Another primary task is to coordinate all work around operation and optimization of the management system, so we are always compliant with the requirements of the standards and the Group's HSMS (Hubers Sustainability Management System). You contribute to the further development of our sustainability agenda and a strong safety culture, where the systems are understood, complied with, and adhered to at all levels of the organization. 

As an EHS+S Specialist, you are responsible for collecting and assessing data to find trends and future focus areas. You are involved in defining and defining the framework yourself, and a natural part of this is to communicate relevant data to the organization as well as following the development of environmental policy.

 

Your workday ranges widely from organization support, maintenance, project participation, contact to authorities, environmental permits, audits, training / teaching, Incident and risk assessment investigations are also tasks solved by you and the EHS + S team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for preparing environmental permits 
• Sustainability – Future consumption of resources
• Securing waste sorting and recycling of by-products
• Support to the energy team, including the CO2 quota responsible
• Maintain and develop the EHS + S management systems
• Ensure compliance with standards (ISO14001 inkl. energy, ISO45001) and environmental approvals
• Audit planning, implementation, and presentations for management review 
• Monthly / annual data collection for internal and external reporting
• Follow-up and implementation of new / amended legislation
• Analysis of incidents, risk assessments, work permits, etc.
 

Qualifications

 

You have a relevant higher technical education such as. chemical, environmental or process engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the EHS + S field - preferably from a major production company. Project management experience or experience as a coordinator is an advantage.
You communicate effortlessly in writing and orally in Danish and English. Furthermore, you have a high drive and can identify yourself with the following:

CP Kelco in Lille Skensved near Køge is approx. 370 jobs one of the largest production companies in Zealand in the food and processing industry. The company is part of the global CP Kelco group, which produces ingredients to improve consistency and functionality in food, pharmaceuticals and for industrial purposes.
In Little Skensved, CP Kelco primarily produces the ingredients pectin and carrageenan based on citrus peel and seaweed. We are certified in ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
