Position Summary

Performs maintenance duties required to construct, repair, and maintain all plant equipment, utilities, buildings and related structures.  Assists Millwright II and III in the performance of more highly skilled tasks.  This position is scheduled Monday through Friday 7am - 3pm.  This position requires an on-call rotation.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performs minor maintenance duties.  This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Services equipment; greasing, changing oil in gear drives, blow out filers
  • Installs and repairs safety guards
  • Performs welding and cutting repairs as needed
  • Performs repairs to packaging equipment as needed
  • Performs repairs to crusher including minor adjustments and replacement of skirting
  • Replaces screen decks as needed
  • Performs overhaul of Raymond mills, assists with replacements of mill components
  • Services dust collector and bag replacements
  • Services air compressor and air dryer including washing radiators and replacing air filters
  • Adjusts airlocks seals and checks air purge
  • Performs repairs to pneumatic conveying systems including replacing piping and couplings
  • Replaces and adjusts belts and chains as needed
  • Performs layout, construct and set up of concrete forms and rebar
  • Fabricates and installs screwed, flanged, socket and welded piping/tubing
  • Performs repairs to all plumbing fixtures and toilets
  • Informs Supervisor of problems encountered during repairs and suggests possible solutions for problems
  • Complies with Employee Handbook policies and all Company Safety guidelines
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years industrial experience and/or technical school equivalent or a combination of education and experience.
  • Willing and able to work and act safely (laboratory and plant practices).
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include the following:  multiplication, addition, and percentages – all of which can be accomplished with the use of a calculator if needed.
  • Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, operating procedures, SDS, and various production schedules/reports.
  • Must have valid driver’s license as part pick up is required.

  • May be required to perform bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
  • May be required to lift items and move 50 lbs occasionally, must be able to ascend and descend ladders, climb stairs, crouch and crawl. 
  • May be required to climb on various plant structures where maintenance requirements exists.
