Position Summary

The position of the Millwright III performs highly skilled maintenance and buildup welder duties required to construct, repair, and maintain all mine equipment, utilities, buildings and related structures.  Operator is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Mandatory Minimum Standards Required (MMSRs) within his/her sphere of influence.  This may include compliance with any air permits, waste water permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performs minor maintenance duties.  This includes but is not limited to the following:
     o    Diagnoses, repairs and overhauls of gearboxes 
     o    Major fabrication
     o    Highly skilled welding and cutting
     o    Crusher rebuilding, screen decks and conveyor belts (splice and align)
     o    Dust collector rebuild
     o    Air compressor, air dryer service
     o    Rebuild and adjust airlocks
     o    Adjust and set a variety of bearings
     o    Troubleshoot pneumatic conveying systems utilizing the pneumatic program – blowers, diverters and airlocks 
     o    Calculation of speed ratios of sheave and sprocket drivers 
     o    Electric motor replacement and alignment (excluding wiring)
•    Performs all Tasks of a Millwright I and Millwright II.
•    Assists supervision with prioritization and closing out of work order requests using maintenance management systems.  
•    Informs Supervisor of problems encountered during repairs, preventative maintenance, and suggests possible solutions for problems
•    Assists in training Millwright I.
•    Assumes On-Call responsibilities
•    Operates machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all times.  
•    Maintain a clean and safe work area. 
•    Knowledgeable of ISO quality system as required to ensure compliance to the ISO 9001 quality standard. 
•    Understands safety responsibilities of lock, tag and try policies along with all EH&S policies.
•    Employee must learn and observe all applicable company policies, safe practices and perform all duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.  
•    Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

•    High School diploma or GED equivalent required.  Technical school a plus.
•    Minimum 5 years work experience as a millwright in an industrial environment.
•    Must be computer literate – basic skills including signing onto and off of computer to check Huber e-mail frequently/routinely and to take online safety classes and to complete annual open enrollment benefit process.
•    Work and act safely.  Must be alert and able to react and respond quickly to safety related situations to assist self and others in emergency situations.
•    Must be able to perform mathematical calculations which include the following:  multiplication, addition, percentages (can be accomplished with the use of a calculator or manually computed).
•    Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization and be able to communicate using a radio. 
•    Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules/ reports.
•    Certified Crane Operator preferred. 
•    Certified JLG Operator.
•    Electrical knowledge preferred.
•    Commercial Drivers License preferred.
•    Valid Drivers License required.
