Position Summary
The Accounting Manager - Biolchim Group provides financial accounting leadership to the Huber Biolchim Group’s foreign distributor entities, furthermore the manufacturing entities in Hungary and Canada.
This function effectively oversees accounting operations, month-end close, and provides guidance to the accounting teams of the foreign entities. This includes oversight of the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and sub-systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the requirements of strong internal controls. Furthermore, it ensures, that local statutory filings are managed to comply with laws and fiscal obligations.
In addition, the Accounting Manager - Biolchim Group maintains close collaboration with the overall HEM (Huber Engineered Materials) finance organization to ensure financial reporting accuracy and completeness.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Month-end Close, Financial Reporting and General Accounting Oversight
- Leads the activities of the financial accounting teams/contractors to ensure timely month-end close and the completeness & accuracy of the monthly financial reporting package.
- Partners with Operations Finance / Plant Controllership to ensure proper financial accounting of Inventory and Manufacturing transactions.
- Communicates with subsidiary entities to have effective coordination of intercompany accounting.
- Leads periodic balance sheet reviews of the entities to ensure balances are supported and reconciliation issues are timely addressed.
- Supports International Controller with information and data requests to complete Balance Sheet analytics, Cash Flow analytics and Annual Reports schedules.
- Supports the migration to a common ERP platform (Oracle), ensures statutory and management reporting requirements can coexist.
- Supports the establishment of new foreign entity accounting setup, including partnering with local 3rd party accounting firms to ensure proper oversight & alignment with Huber requirements.
- Technical Accounting and Internal Controls
- Partners with the global finance team to implements policies, procedures, and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Communication of the Company’s Grants of Authority across foreign entities.
- Tax and Audit Compliance
- Partners with local teams & tax professionals to manage local tax deliverables.
- Partners with Huber Corporate Tax to compile requirements for quarterly US GAAP tax provisions.
- Provides leadership of the internal and external audit process including oversight of PBC schedules and audit deliverables.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- University degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field
- 8-10 years of previous experience in a similar function and working within a matrix, international organization
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and proven leadership skills to energize and engage a multi-functional team of competent professionals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian and the ability to communicate ideas, instructions, and information in a concise manner
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively with other functions
- Competency in the use of computers and software for business transactions, data analysis, and communication (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI or other packages)
- Willingness to travel internationally
