Position Summary

As an Okmulgee Engineering Intern, you will be assigned an individual project to complete over the span of your internship. Concluding the internship, you will be required to present your completed project to the Okmulgee SSLT, Senior Site Leadership Team. In addition to your assigned project, you may be responsible for participating on various teams and providing support on company initiatives and projects at the Okmulgee manufacturing plant. You will report directly to pre-determined mentor in one of the following Laboratories: Culture and Development Lab, Quality Control Lab or Food Safety Department.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

To perform this internship successfully, an individual must be able to perform the fundamental functions and responsibilities as defined below:

 

  • Strong ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and propose solutions
  • Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, thoroughness, creativity, flexibility and initiative
  • Ability to be productive and collaborative in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize one’s own work
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under various deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime, nights, and weekends on an as needed basis
  • Ability to work in variable temperature conditions depending on the season
  • Ability to work in dusty environments
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk or stand for several hours per day, with frequent need to climb ladders and stairs
  • Visual acuity requirements include normal depth perception and 20/30 vision with or without correction
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to Level C (general) and Level A (packaging) GMP standards
  • Must follow CP Kelco, state, and federal guidelines concerning safety and environmental protection
