Position Summary

The Quality Lab Tech I is responsible for certain physical, chemical, and identification testing and reporting performed on pharmaceutical, food, industrial, and oilfield product samples received in the QC Lab.  Timely and precise results reporting, and strong communication skills are required to be successful in this position.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the fundamental functions and responsibilities of the job as defined below:

  • Create a culture of Safety and Teamwork
  • Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals
  • Perform all duties utilizing safe lab practices in regard to use of PPE, solution make-up, storage and disposal of chemicals and spill cleanup
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory testing equipment along with all necessary calibration records
  • Complete all assigned testing for the day as distributed by the supervisor and team and maintain accurate records in logbooks and electronic record management system
  • On a rotating basis perform raw material testing in a timely manner for release of material to production
  • Complete special testing requests as assigned by the area supervisor which includes projects related to process improvement, customer complaints, and troubleshooting
  • Participate in routine audits by answering questions from auditors and being available to support Quality Supervisors on locating documents and records

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Experience with LIMS systems and data entry
  • Experience with ICP-OES, GC, GCMS, Viscometers, Spectroscopy and/or LECO preferred
