Process Control System Specialist

Position Summary

The Process Control Systems Specialist, as part of the Project Engineering department at the CPKelco Okmulgee facility, will interface with a diverse team of personnel such as manufacturing plant operations and technical/engineering (Safety, Instrumentation, manufacturing process experts, applications engineers, etc.), to maintain a variety of process control systems including Emerson Delta V, Allen Bradley PLC, GE Fanuc and Windows based workstations and servers.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Confers with operators, supervisors and engineers to elicit known requirements of the business and suggests previously unconsidered improvements for evaluation.
• Meets with engineering team to define and implement process control and instrumentation projects.
• Provide technical and operational expertise for the day-to-day support of the process control systems and infrastructure
• Interface with vendors and area personnel to assist in purchasing and deployment of solutions.
• Interface with outside consultants, engineering, company process control specialists, and area personnel to coordinate development and deployment of custom solutions.
• Troubleshoot control systems hardware and software failures for Delta V and Microsoft systems

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

• Applicant must be a self starter with excellent troubleshooting skills required to be on call to provide plant support during off hours and weekends. Project startup and optimization experience required.
• A working knowledge of OPC, and Pi data historian.
• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to use and troubleshoot at least one of the following areas of process control and associated computing systems:
  • Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Delta V DCS
  • OSI PI
  • Microsoft Windows Servers (2016, 2018, 10)
  • VMware/virtual machines
  • TCP/IP-based network switches and routers (e.g. Cisco or equivalent)
