Position Summary
The STA - EHS supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, managing schedules, and assisting with implementing EHS programs and policies. Responsible for providing administrative support to the department. Duties include general clerical, receptionist, and project-based work. Project a professional company image throughout all interactions and communications.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the fundamental functions and responsibilities of the job as defined below:
- Manage and organize EHS-related documents and records, including safety data sheets, incident reports, training records, and permits.
- Support the department with administrative needs, including formatting presentations, compiling reports, internet research, entering data, organizing meetings and conference calls, collating, and mailing payments to vendors and customers, maintaining office supplies and equipment, and scanning, copying, and faxing documents.
- Assist EHS Team with budgeting tasks, including tracking expenses related to safety initiatives, analyzing budget data, and preparing reports for budget planning and forecasting.
- Schedule and coordinate EHS-related meetings, training sessions, and other events.
- Prepare and distribute EHS-related reports and other documents as needed.
- Maintain and update EHS-related databases and spreadsheets.
- Create and modify documents using Microsoft Suite.
- Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide support to EHS team members and assist with other EHS-related duties as assigned
Specialized/Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, especially knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a high degree of basic computer skills/knowledge/aptitude in general.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Proactive team player.
- Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Self-starter who can work independently of constant supervision.
- Must be able to communicate well with many departments.
- Experience with SAP is a definite plus.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management and plant personnel on a day-to-day basis.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years experience in a clerical role & a high level of clerical skills; experience in EHS-related roles or industries is a plus.
