Position Summary

To ensure the shipments meet Plant order requirements.  That the correct product is packaged following plant instructions.  To ensure that bag weights are in range.  Sort and distribute supersacks.  Load packaged trucks.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Cart Operator is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management System within his/her sphere of influence.  This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, waste water permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.

 

1.    Sets up bagging carts under correct tank.
2.    Operates and monitors bagging systems and keeps bag weights in spec.  Bagging systems may consist of manual and automatic systems and supersack filling.  Manual stacking may be needed occasionally.
3.    Services and repairs equipment as scheduled or directed.
4.    Keeps palletizer supplied with pallets, dividers and other needed supplies.
5.    Warehouses, scans and records finished product inventory.
6.    Inspects trucks and loads them following the plant instructions.
7.    Fills out paperwork such as, but not limited to: plant orders, sample tags, lift truck inspection reports.
8.    Stencils product with customer information, re-palletizes product, and dumps non-conforming product.
9.    Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and safe condition using good housekeeping.
10.    Works closely with Production Supervisor to ensure adequate supply of supersacks are on hand.
11.    Employees must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by the Production Supervisor.  This description covers the significant duties of the job, but may not include occasional assignments, which would be within the evaluation of this job. 
12.    Knowledgeable of the ISO quality system as required to assure compliance to the ISO 9001 quality standard.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

•    High School Diploma or GED required.  
•    Must be able to train and qualify to operate a lift truck.
•    Ability to read and comprehend safety policy manuals, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules/reports.
•    Must be able to speak and read the English language fluently while having good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements

Works inside Ball Mill complex, Packaging Plant, Warehouses above and underground.  Exposed to noise, vibration, heat, cold, and ground limestone.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

 

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Cart Operator

[$25.91 - $28.50]

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
