Position Summary
Provide leadership and technical environmental safety and health support to the site, including both the Performance Minerals and Nutrition Manufacturing Units. Assist with development & coordination of site environmental health and safety programs and objectives. Coordinate EHS training programs at the site. Monitor EH&S regulations and provide technical support to personnel to ensure compliance with Federal, State, local and internal environmental, health and safety. Support the continued implementation and maturation of the the Huber Sustainability Management System (HSMS) for the site. There are two openings for this role. One will be based at our Marblehead, IL site, and the other will be at our Quincy, IL site, both of which are about 3 miles from each other.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance Support
- Maintain and monitor EHS compliance systems (permits, calendars, audits).
- Provide technical safety and health guidance to site personnel.
- Develop and implement written EHS programs and policies.
- Identify training needs and deliver safety and health training.
- Participate in product/process reviews (e.g., hazard analysis, PPE selection).

Site-Wide EHS Services
- Support engineering controls to reduce safety/health risks.
- Maintain safety resource library (videos, manuals, regulations).
- Promote EHS awareness via memos, newsletters, and training.
- Review operating procedures for EHS considerations.

Proactive Risk Management
- Advise teams on upcoming regulatory changes to ensure timely compliance.
- Conduct audits to verify adherence to EHS regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and review safety committee minutes, inspection reports, and incident investigations.

Corporate Program Implementation
- Support rollout of corporate EHS initiatives (e.g., Sustainability Management System, Life Saving Rules).

Reporting & Documentation
- Assist with preparation of required EHS reports (daily to annual) for regulatory and internal purposes.

Monitoring & Assessment
- Perform/coordinate site assessments, industrial hygiene sampling, and environmental monitoring.

Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with engineering to ensure process changes do not introduce new hazards.

Other Duties
- Perform additional EHS-related tasks as assigned.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in a safety science/engineering/industrial hygiene discipline, environmental science/engineering or chemical engineering, and/or knowledge of mining & manufacturing operations.
- Extensive experience in mining & manufacturing operations can substitute for educational requirements.
- 3-5 years experience in mining or other industrial operations
- Must have good comprehension of management systems and risk based prioritization
- Must be motivated and have a passion for EH&S
- Mining experience and understanding of 30 CFR (MSHA Regulations)
- Proficient in the English language (oral and written)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and crawl. Must be able to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely holt to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
