Position Summary

To ensure the shipments meet Plant order requirements and are loaded per load securement policies. That the correct product is packaged following plant instructions. To operate bulk bag system, ensure that bag weights are in range and warehouse product as produced. Packaging Plant Utility Operator reports to the Packaging Complex Coordinator. This is a 2nd Shift position.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management Standard requirements, within their sphere of influence. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.

 

Potentially Significant EH&S Impact(s): In charge of monitoring their equipment for visible emissions, shutting down equipment with visible emissions and reporting emissions to their area coordinator. Deal with petroleum spills properly.

 

  1. Operates, monitors bagging systems, and keeps bag weights in spec. Manual stacking may be needed occasionally.
  2. Service and repair equipment as directed.
  3. Keeps palletizer supplied with pallets, dividers, and other needed supplies.
  4. Warehouses finished product.
  5. Inspects trucks and loads them following the plant instructions.
  6. Fills out paperwork such as: plant orders, sample tags, forklift inspection reports, etc.
  7. Stencils product with customer information, repalletizes product, dumps nonconforming product.
  8. Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and safe condition using good housekeeping.
  9. Employees must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by the coordinator. This description covers the significant duties of the job but may not include occasional assignments, which would be within the evaluation of this job. 
  10. Relieves Packaging Plant Operator when needed or when directed.
  11. Knowledgeable of the ISO quality system as required to ensure compliance to the ISO 9001 quality standard.
  12. Follows FSMA guidelines in the daily production of product.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
  • CDL license preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety policy manuals, MSHA regulations, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules/reports. 

Physical Requirements

Works in all inside and outside areas of the plant and is exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, noise, vibrations, grease, oil, crushed and ground limestone spillage and somewhat dirty conditions.

Requires ability to climb stationary ladders up to at least 60’.

  • Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and crawl.
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.
  • Frequently operates forklift.
  • Frequently requires clean up of limestone spillage which includes sweeping and shoveling material.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

[$22.52 - $24.78]

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
