Position Summary

JM Huber is seeking a Production Manager at Active Minerals International, an Attapulgite Clay production facility in Quincy FL.

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of goods. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards. The Production Manager provides leadership to production teams, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates cross-functionally to support business objectives, customer requirements, and operational excellence.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and team members to build a high-performing, accountable workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; promote a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor production efficiency, scrap, downtime, and labor utilization; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with logistics, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, work instructions, and ISO standards.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs; prepare reports and present performance updates to leadership.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Support capital projects, process improvements, and equipment commissioning as applicable.
  • Manage staffing levels, shift coverage, training, and cross-training to support operational needs.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, CAPAs, and audit activities.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and labor guidelines consistently and fairly.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support employee relations, onboarding, performance management, corrective actions, investigations, and compliance with company policies and employment practices.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of operational objectives.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role perfered.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and performance metrics.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with ERP or manufacturing management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb as required during the shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to operate equipment with hand and foot controls.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating controls and computer equipment.
  • Vision and hearing sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

 

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Production Manager

[$96,900.00 - $125,800.00]

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
