Position Summary

A Shipping Clerk is responsible for processing customer shipments and tracking of inbound stone and internal movement of production. To route trucks to the correct area for loading and inform employees of trucks to load. To provide reports and information to Logistics and Planning group. To support EFS by ensuring correct late codes and carrier information is entered into system.  Standard hours are 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday - Friday but are subject to change based on business needs. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management Standard requirements, within their sphere of influence. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, waste water permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.

 

  • Provide courteous service while waiting on drivers, vendors and other visitors both in person and on the phone.
  • Process trucks to be loaded (consisting of but not limited to: confirming correct pickup number, routing truck to be loaded, correct Oracle entries, printing and processing of BOL)>
  • Ensure that correct carrier information is entered into system.
  • Ensure that all instructions are followed on work orders such as: COA’s are faxed or given out as required, BOL’s are faxed to customers as needed, seals are used and recorded, etc.
  • Prepare late shipment report.
  • Prepare other reports as requested such as: open order, tons shipped, etc.
  • Ensure contractor’s/visitors are up-to-date/have proper training (MSHA 40 hours / MSHA Hazard training) needed prior to entering plant.
  • Checks out and maintains mine entry equipment
  • Track amount of product overloaded/underloaded.
  • Follow-up on truck loading/lab testing to minimize exposure to detention.
  • Support Logistics/Planning staff in their duties as needed and fill in to cover absence. This could include working longer hours and other shifts.
  • Must take a proactive part in company safety programs.
  • Employee must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by supervisor.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years office administration experience preferred.
  • Must be able to handle multiple duties at once. Interacts with customers, shippers, truckers, management, and plant personnel all in the same time frame.
  • Must have good computer skills working with ERP and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to communicate both written and verbally with all levels to include customer service, customers, management, peers, vendors, and plant personnel.
