Position Summary

To ensure that finished product meets the customer and In Process Controls (IPC) as dictated by customer specifications. Verify that packing, labeling and plant load out to QDC meets all internal and customer requirements. Certify that all customer requirements listed in the production schedule are met.  This position is a 12 hour rotating schedule on night shift, working 6pm to 6am. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management Standard requirements, within their sphere of influence.  This may include compliance with any air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.  In addition, compliance with all MSHA, FDA and other regulatory agencies is required. Responsible for bringing all environmental, health and safety and/or quality incidents or concerns to management for resolution. 

1.    Sets up pack out equipment configuration to meet production needs.
2.    Operate and monitor finished product pack out systems and ensure that bag weights are within specification. Pack out systems may consist of manual, automatic or a combination of the two. Manual stacking may be needed.
3.    Conducts Mill service, PM’s and assists Maintenance with minor repairs of equipment as directed.
4.    Responsible for maintaining packaging supply inventory within the production facility.
5.    Fills out paperwork such as:  batch records, plant orders, sample bags, lift truck inspection reports, etc.
6.    Stencils product with customer information, repalletizes product, labels and scans nonconforming product.
7.    Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and orderly condition following GMP guidelines.
8.    Employee must follow all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by supervisor.  This description covers the significant duties of the job but may not include additional assignments assigned by supervisor.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

•    High School Diploma or GED required.  
•    Must be qualified to operate a tow motor.
•    A CDL license is strongly preferred.
•    Experience in a food or pharmaceutical environment is strongly preferred.
•    Ability to read and comprehend safety policy, SOP’s, SDS, Quality Manual and various production schedules/reports.
•    Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs (constantly throughout shift if packaging), must be able to ascend and descend ladders, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and crawl.  Must be able to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.

Physical Requirements

Works inside Plant facility, Warehouses above and underground.  Exposed to noise, vibration, heat, cold and ground limestone.  Must be able to operate automatic and manual packers, set bag weights, operate bulk bag filling station, operate forklifts, assist operator in monitoring automatic pack out system.  Troubleshoots and solves problems, services equipment, and cleans the plant.  Must comply with all company and GMP/FDA rules and regulations and complete annual GMP training.  Assists in ensuring top quality housekeeping is maintained. Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
