Position Summary

The Sr. HR Business Partner provides thought partnership and support to stakeholders in matters including but not limited to: employee and labor relations, performance management, talent management, coaching, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, and HR compliance.  The Sr. HR Business Partner is instrumental in executing the Company’s people initiatives and programs, providing great internal customer support, as well as driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.  This role serves as an important member of the Rifle, CO and La Mirada, CA leadership teams and is actively engaged as a member of the HEM HR team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort for definition and improvement of company culture.
  • Effectively investigate employee relations issues. Analyze information from various sources and examine potential risks, ensure actions are legally compliant and in accordance with company values.
  • Partners with employees and managers to effectively manage conflict to a successful resolution.
  • Investigate grievances or employee concerns and recommend remedies to Front Line Leaders and Managers. Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws.
  • Advise employees in various human resources matters including interpersonal issues, training, and career development.
  • Review disciplinary issues with management to identify and recommend best progressive discipline options, up to and including termination.
  • Lead local recruitment.  Partner with TA team as appropriate. Provide relocation and immigration support as needed.
  • Focuses on long-term staffing needs and succession planning, partnering with leadership to build a talent pipeline for key positions.
  • Assesses workforce skill levels and organizational goals that will require upgrading employee skills, identifying opportunities for cross training.
  • Coordinate effective onboarding for new hires.
  • Manage employee commitment and engagement activities and programs.
  • Conduct internal HR audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Position is involved in the analysis, design, and documentation of business processes.
  • Conduct compensation comparisons for internal and market equity to make salary recommendations for new hires, reorganizations, equity adjustments, and promotions. 
  • Administration of compensation programs including but not limited to merit increase process and various incentive plans.
  • Manage information dissemination/communication.
  • Support employee benefit issues and partner with HR Share Services and benefits department to resolve escalated benefit issues.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed
  • Must have thorough and in-depth knowledge of HR laws, benefit administration, compensation systems and various personnel functions.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively and efficiently perform their responsibilities in a work environment with minimal supervision and continuous interruption.
  • Must regularly exercise independent judgment and decision making.
  • Experience with leave management, compensation and benefits.
  • Working exposure to multi-site, multi-state, or global operations a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of HR computer software programs and systems (Success Factors and Ultipro preferred) as well as Microsoft Office is required.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate a proper sense of urgency, decisiveness, integrity, and ability to make appropriate decisions.
  • Must have the ability to interact and work effectively with all level of the organization, including executive management.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

 

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Sr. HR Business Partner

[$94,500.00 - $122,700.00]

 

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
