Position Summary

As a Manager of Technical Services, you will be responsible for meeting/exceeding the OPB for CPK business. You will drive, monitor, and report on the Opportunity Pipeline and win rate within the region. Partnering with the Regional and Strategic Sales and Marketing teams on Direct and Distribution focused initiatives is key.  This role will be remote near a major airport and you must already be living in one of the following countries: Central America, Mexico, Southeastern United States and the Caribbean. and requires up to 40% travel.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the region’s opportunity pipeline and conversion rate in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager, to deliver/exceed regional sales targets in the OPB and POR ambition as set by yearly metrics.
  • Ensure that the necessary information is available internally, to enable an opportunity to smoothly convert to a win and a sale.
  • Drive, monitor and report internally on the Opportunity Pipeline and win rate for the region’s customers and distributors.
  • Provide technical support to customers and distributors on our ingredient portfolio. Develop and own technical relationships, stay relevant and offer solutions/troubleshoot to support the sales process.
  • Be the main connection between our sales managers and the technical contacts of the corresponding customers and distributors.
  • Have a hunting mindset, be aware of customer needs to translate them into opportunities.
  • Strategically focus on near term, medium term and long-term opportunities and ability to refine focus with agility.
  • Conduct technical trainings in the region for new and existing customers to ensure they are becoming proficient and effective at targeting and value selling.
  • Work closely with STS lab team to execute TSRs in a timely manner.
  • Collect Voice of customer, proactively share with the relevant teams internally and develop insights into where and how we will win, where and how we should adjust.
  • Engage with regional marketing to execute the regional marketing roadmap, creating alignment with the Regional Sales Manager, and gathering input from distributors and customers.

Required Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical / Food Engineer / Food Science. Master’s Degree is preferred and 7-10 years of experience in Chemical/Food Science with a solid understanding of food ingredients/additives properties, interactions, and functionalities.
  • Knowledge of hydrocolloids, texturizers and stabilizers is preferred.
  • Expertise in either beverages, bakery or fruit applications (fruit preparations, jams, jellies, bakery fillings) is a plus.
  • Bilingual- Spanish and English speaker is preferred.
  • Self-Motivated Solution oriented problem solver to solve Customer problems with a win/win solution.
  • Evaluate customer needs, understand regional market drivers and forces, and work with sales tech service leadership to execute programs that build company business and value.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Saleforce.com.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to present technical presentations in front of groups of people.
  • Strong Project Management skills and the ability to work in a matrixed organization.
  • Solid financial acumen skills.
  • Voice of Customer listening skills
