THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTELY BASED IN ITALY - WITH OCCASIONAL TRAVELS TO OUR EUROPEAN PRODUCTION SITES.

 

 

Position Summary:

 

In this role you will ensure network availability, scalability to individual requirements, contribute to Huber´s network strategy, consult and support IT teams as well as business units around all network related initiatives and projects.

 

You will act as a network technology representative in all portfolio projects, guiding stakeholders to design their requirements in line with global technology strategy. 

 

You will also represent the technology aspects by working closely with the engineering teams, enterprise networking team and ensure that projects and initiatives align with network standards and strategies. You will also be part of Huber´s 2nd Level Support and escalation process, with focus on network technologies. 

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver a world class network service delivery, to allow Huber to leverage latest technologies as these align with industry best practices. Enable Huber to improve and maintain a high available network infrastructure, focusing on modern manufacturing and have a good understanding of IT/OT services.
  • Network lifecycle management of Huber Standard equipment --> Maintain valid Service Contracts on all equipment; Plan and process replacements according to manufacturer’s/Huber’s life cycle announcements.
  • Ongoing demand analysis and network improvement initiatives.
  • Optimization, Management and Troubleshooting --> LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki); Wireless LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki); Firewalls (Fortinet); Data connections (MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN)
  • Plan, present and process network infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintaining and implementation of new network standards and processes.
  • Participation in every aspect of the development and operational areas and design cloud network connectivity architecture.
  • Research, analyze, recommend, and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems.
  • Management of medium sized local network projects.
  • Documentation --> Changes; Architecture; Problems.
  • Ensure network availability.

 

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree within Information Technology field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Production level experience to migrate and deploy current Huber standard solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Meraki/Cisco technologies and services such as switching and routing, firewall management, TCP/IP networking, VLAN Management, LAN/Wireless LAN, Spanning Tree issue resolution.
  • 3+ years of experience with architecting and developing high availability network designs.
  • Experience with designing, planning, and implementing LAN and wireless networks (IEEE 802.11) in a corporate network environment.
  • Ability to do wireless network surveys, create heatmaps and simulations either using opensource tools or commercial ones such as Ekahau tools.
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access points, Firewalls, DNS and DHCP.
  • Strong experience with CISCO Meraki Switching: STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/protection, VTP, VLANs, 802.1Q trunk connections, strong understanding of MAC /CAM/ ARP tables is a must.
  • Proficient with addressing mechanisms (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, or similar), and with L1 technologies (SMF, MMF, DWDM, Transceivers).
  • Proficient in packet analysis (Wireshark), in troubleshoot packet decode on TCP and UDP, and experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques.
  • In-depth experience with cabling technologies - Category 5, Category 6A, Single & Multi-Mode Fiber.
  • Deep product knowledge and understanding of Meraki/Cisco product features including Disaster Recovery, Internet of Things, Monitoring, and remote Management.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
  • Strong analytical network troubleshooting skills and proficiency with packet capture tool.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and crisis management skills, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Proficient language skills in English, Italian or German is a plus; ability to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
