Position Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all plant equipment. Includes preventative, predictive, routine, capital, and emergency work. The position is also responsible for managing administrative requirements such as CMMS, planning and scheduling, and the technical documents for the plant.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Manages the maintenance programs to effectively execute the OP&B for safety, downtime, and
environmental requirements as established. Responsible for HSMS 400 and other life-saving rule policies.
•Manages capital and expense budgets for the department as established in the OP&B.
•Direct reports include the Mechanical Supervisor, the Electrical Supervisor, the Reliability Engineer, and the Programmers. Indirect reports include approximately 30 craft and administrative people to support the plant engineering requirements.
•Participates in internal and external discussions with other technical persons where plant equipment and processes are under review.
•Supports plant special requirements such as R&D and equipment performance in events that are not meeting expectations established in the OP&B.Implement and champion the plant's Predictive Maintenance/Reliability program, working closely with the Plant Engineer/Reliability Engineer to prioritize needs and plan and maintain training for PdM and lubrication techs.
•Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving the whole body and multilimbed coordination.
•Manages the CMMS Planning and PM functions and maintains the technical library for the plant’s maintenance requirements.
•Provides direction and leadership so that Maintenance Department personnel are developed and trained in the most efficient, productive, and safe manner to perform their jobs and prepared to progress into successively higher-level positions within the organization; and to ensure that there is a qualified person to backfill for this position during the absence of the incumbent of this position.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

•B.S in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering and six or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
•Demonstrated education in drafting and CAD skills.
•Ability to apply mechanical reasoning skills.
•Must have experience in Six Sigma, Statistics, or SPC
•Knowledge of plant processing and equipment (wood products a plus)
•Ability to use spreadsheets and word-processing software.
•Familiar with plant automation systems

•Ensure materials and manpower are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
