Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring plant process efficiency. Make necessary changes and recommendations to ensure optimal performance and safe operation of plant production equipment.
Program PLCs, create graphics for MMI, and update plant electrical equipment.
Install, repair, and update plant computer and microprocessor systems using wiring diagrams and prints. When necessary, assist the Electrical Supervisor in organizing, scheduling, and directing electrical maintenance activities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Updates and modifies graphic systems.

•Ensures documentation of PC and PLC systems are in order and updated as required.
•Ensures the recording of and historical access to all mandatory EHS metrics in compliance with operating permits and MMSRs.
•Writes PLC programs and assists the Electrical Supervisor with coordination and production.
•Operates all plant electrical, electronic, testing, and calibration equipment.
•Assists service contractors in troubleshooting and repair of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and programmable logic controller computers.
•Works from written material and electrical, electronic, and pneumatic drawings as required.
•Prepares electrical sketches using proper signs and symbols.
•Documents all changes in electrical circuits on engineering drawings and sends them to the Engineering Department.
•Detects and reports faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the Supervisor and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
-Assists in training personnel.-Requisitions replacement parts and materials needed to keep instruments and equipment in working order.
-Maintains records of work performed on instruments and equipment.
•Provide leadership, always giving guidance and direction to electricians and the Instrument Control Technician.
•Performs the following duties during the absence of the Electrical Supervisor:
-Crew scheduling as needed to cover for vacations, illness, etc.
-Issues requisitions for parts, materials, and supplies as required.
-Assigns and schedules work for day and shift electricians to ensure timely completion of required tasks.
-Notifies the Plant Maintenance Manager / Engineer in the event deficiencies arise.
-Ensures that the PM schedule is followed.
-Attends the weekly down day meeting to ensure the proper scheduling of personnel.
•Performs other duties as may be assigned.
•Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

BS Required, 3-5 years’ Wood Products or manufacturing experience preferred.
•Excellent communication (presentation, written, oral).
•Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Wonderware Archestra, and Rockwell RS Logix 5, 500, & 5000
